Like Yorkie doing her fashion show in the mirror: it doesn't usually make sense for a character to be so good at hair, makeup, wardrobe, etc. It was amazing to see so many 80s tropes used and seemlessly have them take on second meanings. Maybe that's only appealing to me because I've got such a limited time to enjoy it all, but I'd risk that kind of monotony just to have more time than however long this meat sack lasts. I don't really think it could be boring, living forever, watching the way culture evolves, how people change. I'm not really afraid of death - more curious to see what happens - but the idea that I could stay around in some form long after my body rots away would be as close to perfection as I need. Side note: I'm a little bit in love with the idea of a digital afterlife. I'm sure I would have loved the dark version of this episode, too, but this was a nice change of pace. They could have focused on someone who disassociates/loses their mind in San Junipero - which almost feels more like what we'd expect from a "traditional" Black Mirror episode - but instead focused on two people finding happiness outside the confines of their bodies. I'm glad they decided to show the wondrous aspects of potential future tech, rather than the horror.
